What's New With Us
An abbreviated newsletter this month, as we are super busy getting the boat prepped for another fun summer adventure cruising the BC coast on Vestri.
We spent the first half of April visiting family on Vancouver Island, then had another short stay at Miracle Beach Provincial Park before taking the Comox-Powell River ferry to the Sunshine Coast. Booked into Sunlund RV Park for a month while we work on the boat in a nearby boat storage yard.
The weather has turned quite dry for this time of year, so Anne is getting a ton of the teak wood trimmings on the boat sanded and repainted. It will look better than ever!
In addition to routine yearly maintenance and dewinterization, I have some other projects planned:
Teardown of the anchor windless for complete cleaning, regreasing, and gear oil change.
Upgrade the SideShift bowthruster motor from 12VDC to 24VDC
Upgrade the solar panels on the flybridge rails from two old 100W to two new 195-watt Renogy ShadowFlux
Install a better boat horn, a longer VHF radio antenna, a bilge high-water alarm, and replace old/missing window wiper parts.
April Boating Update: Busy Prepping "Vestri"
Stay tuned as in a couple of weeks, boating season begins. It will be good to be back out on the water!
