Love Your RV & Boat! Newsletter - 11/24
Welcome to the November Newsletter from Sunny California!
What's New With Us
This month, we've had some incredible journeys and experiences across the Pacific Northwest. Our first adventure took us aboard the M/V Coho ferry from Victoria, BC to Port Angeles, WA. The scenic ferry ride provided stunning views of Victoria Harbour and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It was a seamless way to traverse from Canada to the USA with our RV.

The first stop in the US was the 7 Cedars Casino, about a 1/2 hour east of Port Angeles, WA. They offer up to 3 free nights of overnight parking in a large dedicated lot. They have a beautiful restaurant called the House of Seven Brothers; Anne gives thumbs to the fish and chips. Meal prices and portion sizes were decent.

We stayed for a few days, mostly relaxing and decompressing. Preparing for our long snowbird trip and visiting family before we go is always hectic. We also stocked up on groceries and enjoyed dinner at a fellow RVer friend’s home in Sequim. He has the same Cougar trailer, so it was interesting to see the mods he has done to his.
Next, we explored the mesmerizing Cannon Beach in Oregon, where we enjoyed spectacular ocean views and unique rock formations. Along the way, we made two free Harvest Hosts stopovers, which offered convenient and safe locations to spend the night: the River Run RV Park in Cosmopolis, WA, and the Blue Heron French Cheese Company in Tillamook, OR.

Our travels then took us to Shore Acres State Park, where we witnessed awe-inspiring waves amplified by seasonal King Tides. Watching the massive waves crash against the coastline was thrilling and humbling, highlighting the raw power of nature.

Finally, I last updated our RV snowbird journey for 2024-25, marking our arrival in the desert. We are camped at Trona Pinnacles National Natural Landmark. The transition to sunnier, warmer climates has been a welcome change, and we're excited about the new experiences and adventures that await us in the coming months.

Stay tuned for more video updates and stories from our travels as we spend our winter in the US Southwest again!

Harvest Host Membership 30% Off Sale
As you can see from the travel vlogs we used several Harvest Hosts locations with good results this month. The HH app makes it easy to sort, select and book the stays.
Since I last used HH, they have added many interesting locations besides wineries. I’m not a wine drinker, so those stops don’t appeal to me much. We stayed at a French cheese company, a rice farm, and an RV park. I also love the museums.
Currently, they have a 30% off holiday sale. With the discount, the one-year membership only cost me around $69. It pays for itself fairly quickly. Many hosts now offer extra nights for a fee or hookups. This can make them a base from which to explore the area rather than just an overnight stop. Here is my affiliate link if you are interested.
Thanks to you both for your update! Pictures of the Coho and 7 Cedars sure brings back memories as my oldest son was stationed USCG at Station Port Angles 2012-2013. Looks like 7 Cedars has expanded some! Heck my last stay there was 4 or 5 spots right behind the building...... Shore Acres as well as Bandon Beach are fond memories. I'm stationary on Amelia Island until? Wintering here before pushing back north up to Vt. 21 +/- miles to Canada. Enjoy the change in scenery. Best,Robert
